The Institute is proud to join as a co-sponsor of the NYC theatrical premiere of the social-action film documentary, Healing Voices, on Saturday, May 13 at 3 p.m. at Anthology Film Archives in Manhattan. Healing Voices explores the experience labeled, “psychosis” and, according to its creators, seeks to generate “healing and hopeful community dialogue on mental health,” and to explore our conceptions of mental illness. The premiere includes a post-screening Q&A with director PJ Moynihan and producers Oryx Cohen and Gayle Berg; Institute Director Lois Holzman and a representative from Hearing Voices NYC.
Other co-sponsors include community based groups working to generate broad community dialogue around mental health issues: Columbia Arts Access, #EmergingProud, Hearing Voices NYC, the International Society for Psychological and Social Approaches to Psychosis / US, and the International Spiritual Emergence Network.
